About Me

This is me talking about how writing my thesis massively increased the numbers of pugs in clothes I tweeted.

This is me talking about how writing my thesis massively increased the numbers of pugs in clothes I tweeted. There were a lot.

I have just finished a PhD (awaiting my viva) at The University of Manchester researching transport inside cells. Basically, I spend a large proportion of my life growing cells in a dish and attempting to get them to behave. For the most part they don’t. Despite this I still love research, so much so I’ll be sticking around in the same lab until December to follow on from some of the work in my PhD.  I’m passionate about public engagement and I love getting involved in activities that communicate science to anyone who is interested.

I have a mild obsession with pug dogs, but I don’t own one. Bit weird.
